INSOLIA HIGH HEELS SHOES

                                              INSOLIA SHOES

Back in the days when this little shoe blog was in its diapers, stretching out one timid antenna into the blogosphere, Scarpediem was immediately contacted by a sales rep(or marketing rep?) for new product called Insolia.

In short, the claim of this product is that it greatly reduces the pain caused by high heels by shifting the pressure from the ball of the foot to the entire area of the sole. This way, you'd be able to wear your precious heels longer and without
 (or  with diminished pain)

Not surprisingly, you'll find that the success rate is far from 100%, but the fact that enough women found this product helpful warranted the launch                    of a full-blown marketing campaign.

The  truly ironic part of the article is that the authors point out that podiatrists don't really recommend wearing stilettos or high heels at all; but since women wear them anyway, the authors feel that they can at least provide something to alleviate the pain. This, to me, is the equivalent of telling a bulimic, " you shouldn't really throw up, it's bad for your health.

HIGH HEEL SHOES

HIGH HEELS SHOES ON THE SYMBOL OF CLASS

Throughout their history, they have acted as symbols for differentiating between social classes. They make a women that her movement will be easier and more elegant as she seems to be already half walking slower and less steady. while todays version is worn for fashion purposes.

only, precursors to the high heel did have functional value, however that did not necessarily stop them being indicators of social status.

In ancient times, wearing shoes may have served to set apart lower classes from the nobility as normal people walked around barefoot while the rich usually wore flat, leather shoes. wearing shoes that are strikingly similar to high heels.

High heels are fashionable, but uncomfortable, and can even lead to chronic foot damage.

But if wearing high heels makes women more attractive, allowing them to be more choosy over a large number of higher quality males competiting  for their attention, this could explain the evolutionary advantages of this fashion statement.

As women normally walk differently from men, high heels may help exaggerate the particularly feminine aspects of gait. What these shoes do is make women walk even more like women.
